Dr. Qureshi is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He joined the staff at Backus Hospital in 2004. He currently serves as the Regional Director for the Hospitalist Program at Hartford Healthcare East Region. He completed his medical degree from Punjab University, Pakistan. He completed an MSc from Bournemouth University, UK. He did his residency training at Overlook Hospital Summit, NJ. He is a teaching affiliate of Columbia University School of Medicine and Surgeons, NY. He went on to do a Fellowship in Geriatrics at SUNY-Stony Brook, He is a Fellow of American College of Physicians and is on the teaching faculty as Clinical Assistant Professor at UCONN School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the Physician Leadership Institute (PLDI) for Hartford HealthCare. In his spare time he likes to volunteer for humanitarian causes and was awarded the Presidents Life Time Achievement Service Award for volunteer services by President Obama and Governor's Citation Award for the state of Maryland for volunteer services during Hurricane Katrina. He also serves as a member of the Medical Scientific Advisory Committee for the Alzheimer’s Association for the State of Connecticut.
